Google’s AI Max Updates Open the Door to Safer Testing, Less Risk

Google’s dropping some solid updates to make testing AI Max and scaling search campaigns a lot less risky. Starting in September, you’ll be able to run A/B tests on budget and ROI targets across multiple search campaigns at once, helping us see if extra spend actually delivers real, incremental growth before we commit.

They’re also giving us more control during AI Max experiments by letting us keep brand and location guardrails in place. Plus, Performance Planner now lets you apply forecasted bid and budget changes with a single click.

We’ll be looking out for opportunities to apply these new tools to test smart, and make sure any automated scaling actually drives results and protects brand guidelines.
