The Challenge

We teamed up with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to create a video for their annual gala, highlighting their impact and echoing the 2020 gala theme.

The Solution

Our goal was to develop an impactful video that highlighted IRC’s recent work, while reinforcing the theme of the evening: “Behind the Headlines.” To execute this, our team created a narrative verse that reclaimed the devastating headlines by turning them into messages of perseverance and hope. We tapped spoken word artists, poets, and rappers from around the world to deliver this narrative in an impactful and engaging way. In addition to drafting the script and sourcing talent, we executed the in-person video shoot and post-production editing, interweaving the curated selection of IRC archival footage and determining the overall creative look and feel.

The Impact

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the in-person gala didn’t occur as originally planned. Nonetheless, our video went on to debut on World Refugee Day and helped catalyze critical support for IRC’s mission and work.
